At Algamus, we provide a safe and supportive environment for all our clients, ensuring a space where women can feel secure as they work through their recovery. With over 30 years of experience, we understand the differences between female and male gambling behaviors, and our experts are skilled in providing effective support for women gamblers. Our mission is to help individuals heal from the impact of addictive gambling on themselves, their loved ones, friends, and employers.

Gambling addiction affects everyone. Our co-ed program addresses the process of addiction and any underlying mental health issues that clients may be experiencing. By creating a comprehensive treatment plan, we ensure that all clients receive the care and attention they need to overcome their addiction and lead healthier lives.

Located in the desert town of Goodyear, Arizona, Algamus is one of the only residential gambling treatment programs in the United States that treats gambling, and only gambling. We have a high staff-to-client ratio, and many of our staff are in recovery from gambling disorder and therefore understand better than most about the difficulties that come with a gambling disorder.

Our approach is built on years of research and experience, recognizing that men and women may face different challenges in their journey to recovery. At Algamus, we are dedicated to helping individuals reclaim their lives and achieve lasting recovery.

Types of Treatment

Our 30-day+ residential gambling treatment program gently guides the disordered gambler into a place of acceptance and empowerment to make the behavioral changes needed to create a life free from gambling and other addictive behaviors. Some of our treatment modalities include:

Our experienced therapists and internationally certified gambling counselors help our clients recreate the lives that have crashed down around them, and each client receives an individualized aftercare plan upon their departure.

Beyond daily groups and frequent individual sessions with a primary therapist or counselor, clients will participate in day trips to surrounding areas, and a fitness regimen that includes a gym membership.
